Road Closure to Mt Blue Sky [W0C/FR-003] (formerly known as Mt Evans) – Update
May 18 - October 1
After ~20 months of repairing the road to Mt Blue Sky, the re-opening is near (May-22). There will be some changes in addition to a (hopefully) smooth(er) road.
- A reservation is now required (7 AM – 6 PM) for developed areas: https://www.recreation.gov/timed-entry/10087438
- Fee for a car is $20, Motorbike $15 and Bicycles are free. An additional ‘Reservation Fee” of $2 is also charged.
- Management of the Recreation Area was transferred to the City of Denver (through an agreement with Arapaho National Forest). Therefore federal lands recreation passes will not be accepted at Mount Blue Sky :(
- Free passes will be available through Clear Creek County and Denver Public Libraries. – Not sure what that even means.
